A wonderful 3-bedroom house full of original features and antique wooden furniture standing high in the tranquil, beautiful hilltop village of Trassilico.

The village of Trassilico lies in the foothills of the Apuan Alps and enjoys breathtaking views of rugged mountain ridges to the West as well as panoramic vistas of the Serchio valley and the Appennines to the East. It retains an air of times gone by with its stone houses, narrow cobbled streets and archways and has a great traditional butcher and grocery shop as well as a cafe and restaurant.

Trassilico is well placed for trekking and climbing and is only 33 km from the small ski resort of Careggine. The well equipped Abetone ski resort is 64km away as is the coast (taking the mountain route over the Apuan Alps).

The village of Gallicano, (11km), has a swimming pool and other sports facilities as well as a wide range of shops and services. There is an open-air market on Wednesday mornings. The medieval walled town of Barga is 16 km away while Lucca and Pisa airport are 45 and 67 km away respectively. There is a station on the train line from Pisa airport at Mologno about 12 km away from Trassilico.

The house is on two levels and features three bedrooms on the upper floor, all with lovely views. There is one double bedroom and two with large single beds. Many original features remain, including ancient tiled flooring, beamed ceilings and antique wooden furniture.

Downstairs, there is a large living room with open fireplace and a well-appointed kitchen with fridge / freezer, 5-burner stove and oven.

The washing machine is housed in a large cellar which also houses a chest freezer and provides ample additional storage.

Outside the main entrance, a table and chairs are provided for outdoor eating.

Note that the village is traffic-free and so cars must be left in the car park at the edge of the village. Consequently, there is a walk along cobbled streets of about 400m to reach the property.
